MY son, like many other 18-24 year olds, is trying to find work. He would like an office based situation so you would think that an education and a willingness to learn would be the main criteria but it appears not.
In at least two instances in the past few weeks employers offering admin-based apprenticeships have extended their deadlines.
Why have the employers done this when they have had at least one application from a “willing to learn” 18 year-old who has qualifications?
Surprisingly they have not invited my son for an interview but have obviously decided that he doesn’t meet their requirements based on his CV. If these are genuine apprenticeship and not cheap labour what are they looking for?
