Wimblington won a high scoring Fenland Trophy match at the Avenue on Sunday over March 2nds by 13 runs after the home side failed in their run chase, despite a valiant 73 not out by 15-year-old Adam Conyard.
The visitors chose to bat first on an excellent track and scored 239-4 off their allotted 40 overs with young leg spinner Rob Conyad taking 3-47.
The only other wicket taker was Sam Mason who took 1-25.
In reply March openers Stephen Wallis 30 and Ash Impey 46 added 59 for the first wicket, but it was Conyard who led the chase striking eight boundaries.
He was supported well by 14-year-old Curtis Oldroyd who scored a promising 17, but they finished on 226-6.
