Three Counties Running Club’s Alice Ingman competes in Flordia at the Honoring the Fallen 5k race

Three Counties Running Club’s Alice Ingman took part in the Honoring the Fallen 5k race in association with Clermont Police in Florida.

The race was set in beautiful Clermont and was an out and back trail route which took the runners alongside Lake Minneola before hitting two hills just as the runners approached the end.

This was the fifth annual event hosted by the Clermont Police Department. The race, was formerly known as the Conrad Buckley Legacy Scholarship 5k, was to honour the deaths of law enforcement officers in the line of duty in 2024.

All race proceeds and donations went to support Concerns of Police Survivors, and Code 4 Initiative which provides assistance to officers and their families in a time of need.

Ingman had a fantastic run, not only finishing with a personal best of 30min07sec but also finishing first in her age category.

Simon Killen took part in the Leicestershire Half Marathon.

This race was a tough half marathon, starting and finishing at Charnwood College in Loughborough. The route mainly took the runners through closed country roads where there were some big hills, as well as a big climb in the last mile and leading up to the finish line.

To make it even harder there was three miles of muddy trails, which was a shock to the runners seeing as it wasn't included in the description!

The temperature was ideal for running but strong winds in the second half of the race made it tough.

Despite this, Killen ran a fantastic half marathon personal best, finishing in a time of 1:19.33 to finish 17th over from 1,260 runners and first in the V45 category.
