Boston angling legend Don Green wins Tydd AC Wednesday Open on North Level with 19lb 4oz from Dennis Houghton
Boston legend Don Green (pictured) showed everyone a clean pair of heels at the Tydd AC Wednesday Open on the North Level at Main Road with an impressive 19lb 4oz from peg 4.
Don is usually content with catching big nets of roach on his favourite hemp and tares but today he decided that tench were the order of the day and found four good fish and a sprinkling of silvers for his leading weight.
Dennis Houghton was on the first half peg above the bridge and hauled in a lovely net of roach and mixed silvers for his second placed 10lb 15oz.
Archie Greenwood was in third with a level 8lb from the first platform above the bridge and Ian Benton in fourth with 6lb 11oz, on a day when the drain started low and still dropped by a further eight or nine inches during the match.
n Sunday club match at Main Road: 1 Andrew Kilby 8lb 9oz; 2 Pete Emery 5lb 15oz; 3 Dave Simmonds 5lb 4oz.
