Chatteris had a good 58-run win against second placed Kimbolton at home on Saturday thanks to a good all-round team display.

The home side won the toss and asked the visitors to bowl first, and Chatteris opened with Connor (28) and Kurt Cunningham (43). Number 4 Ant Bamford (55no) and skipper Ant Palmer (61no), which included a huge six that cleared the new safety nets, propelled Chatteris to 215-6 from 45 overs.

Kimbolton were happy to bat the overs out for batting points for 157-9, Bamford taking 4-24 from his 12 overs.

Chatteris second lost by seven wickets at Wilburton and stay rooted to the bottom of the table. Chatteris made 114 all out with Wes Palmer (24) and extras (25) top scoring.

Chatteris’s Fenland XI kept up their winning ways on Sunday with a crushing eight-wicket win over Somersham at home.

The visitors were dismissed for a dismal 107, Harry Matthews 3-38 being the pick. Oli Bailey (29no) and Liam Boxall (32no) saw the home side over the line inside 28 overs.
