In attendance and passing their Shodan were Riley Allen, Ashleigh Mason, Thien Clare, Amber Crossley-King, Issy Shepperson, Ben Greaves and Harrison Anderson.

Robyn Murrell passed her Nidan grading, with Riley and Ashleigh achieving Distinction passes.

Chief coach Steve King said: "I am so proud of what these students have achieved as six of them have been with me from beginners and two joined from other schools.

"They have been training for six years or more and are the best group of Shodan grades that we have ever produced in our 23 years.

"All of them display great leadership qualities and all the true qualities of Karate-Do."

On the day, Carl Douch Sensei and Glen Mason Sensei were both promoted to Yondan 4th Dan.

In recognition of their loyalty and integrity they were awarded prestigious 4th Dan AKA GB Certificates from President Mandie Read Sensei.

Steve added: "I cannot be prouder of what we have achieved especially over a period of such adversity."

The club is currently preparing for the World WUKF Championships in July 2023, training with the AKB Great Britain National Squad.

Free taster sessions are currently on offer for new members.
