Another big entry of hard-hitting Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars is expected at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena on Saturday (6pm), with the rest of the pits at Saddlebow Road packed with Bangers, where the name of the game is crashing.

The lively 1500cc National Bangers will be ably supported by Lady Bangers and the under-16 stars of the future in Junior Bangers.

Wisbech area drivers Max Stott, Jacob Downey, Thomas Parrin, Jake Swann (March) and Scott Greenslade will look to make the most of more Spring-like conditions this week after battling against incessant rain at the Saloons’ opener a fortnight ago.

Parrin impressed with a race win in the all-comers while Stott made a fantastic debut which saw him unlucky not to claim a maiden win. Like Stott, Downey and Greenslade both debuted terrific looking new cars but the pair came home pointless after struggling in the tricky conditions. Both will hope for better fortune this weekend.

The 1500cc Banger entry includes a clutch of Wisbech-based drivers looking to entertain the crowd. Ryan Bartrum and Anthony Kerr are well-known for their crashing exploits. Dave Bonnett is also a lively customer, while Tom Smith and David Boughen will be out to make their names.

Holder of the prestigious Gold Roof in Lady Bangers, Chatteris’s Steph Street, will be aiming for a good start to the defence of her title. She will be joined on track by Wisbech racer Kelly Smith and March-based Charlotte Whittaker.

Wisbech’s Brad Bartram has established himself as one of the leading runners in Junior Bangers.

At the other end of the scale, experience-wise, Lee Barnes, Andy Betts, Brett Gedney and Lennie Murkin are still in the very early stages of their racing careers.

Gedney impressed with a race win last time out, in mid- January.
