Wisbech triumph at Kimberley Miners Welfare; Parson Drove win at Haverhill and March Town are beaten at Coventry
March Town suffered an FA Vase hangover this afternoon while Wisbech Town and Parson Drove both picked up big wins in their respective league games.
The Hares were beaten 2-0 by Coventry United in the UCL Premier Division South, the Fenmen picked up a slender 1-0 win against Kimberley Miners Welfare in the North while Parson Drove triumphed 3-0 on the road at Haverhill Borough in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North.
Wisbech came into the back of the game on the back of three successive league defeats.
The dual-signed Michael Frew settled any nerves by firing the Fenmen in front after 25 minutes.
And that's the way it stayed at Fountain Fresh Park as the home side picked up their fifth victory of the campaign to give them a four-point cushion above the relegation zone.
Next up for the Fenmen is a visit from Shirebrook Town, who climbed out of the drop zone themselves with a 2-0 win over Deeping Rangers, next Saturday.
Wisbech Town: Lakin, Harris, Wilson, Nicholson, Mattless, Braham, Foster (Papworth-Boston), Barker, Frew, Ward, Lennon.
Comeback kings March Town - 3-2 victors at Biggleswade in the FA Vase last weekend - have now lost two of their last three in the league after defeat at the Butts Park Arena.
A brace from Dylan Parker, who scored a goal in either half, condemned Ash Taylor's side to defeat.
The Hares are fourth in the league table ahead of a trip to Whittlesey Athletic in the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Wednesday night.
They then travel to Hinckley AFC next weekend.
March Town: Gill, Burrows (Saunders), Brumby, Withers (Williams), Emmington, Henderson (Escorcio), Green, Tait (Biggs), Allen (Gillies), Foy, Cotton.
Parson Drove are now just four points off the play-off places in the second tier of the Thurlow Nunn League after an excellent 3-0 win at Haverhill Borough.
After a goalless first half at The New Croft, Tyran Stewart, Adam Richardson and Corey Kingston were all on target for Arran Duke's side.
Drove now have another blank Saturday before hosting FC Peterborough in a huge derby clash on Tuesday week with the visitors currently occupying one of the play-off berths.
