Cambs’ hopes of winning the Minor Counties Championship final at March last week disappeared on the final day when they were bowled out for 72 runs.

The Eastern champions were chasing a total of 240 runs for victory but their batting faltered giving Western Division table-toppers Devon the title of overall Minor Counties champions.

Devon scored 222 and 195 in their two innings, while Cambs were still very much in the game after their first innings total of 182 but then only three players managed double figures in their final innings with a top score of 17.
