Career best for Chatteris bowler Hollis
Chatteris won their penultimate game of the season by 53 runs to record their ninth league win of the season.
Chatteris won the toss and decided to bat first, but after 10 overs were 32-3.
B. Hollis (57) and M. Hollis (43) batted superbly together to record a 90-run partnership and S. Piper (41) batted sensibly with the tail to ensure that Chatteris reached 205 all out.
Young Jake Kaval recorded 7-3-21-4. But the pick of the bowlers was Matt Hollis who recorded his career best 1st XI figures: 9.4-3-43-5 to bowl Buntingford out for 151 in the 36th over.
Captain Anthony Palmer said: “I was pleased for Matty, he bowled and batted really well. We also had two under 15 players in the team so the future is looking bright for the club.”
Next weekend the 1st XI travel to March 2nd for their last game of the season and the 2nds have a very important match against March 3rd at the Fuller Cricket Ground.
