Chatteris first team returned to winning ways in CCA Senior 3 with a comprehensive eight-wicket win at home against Eversden.

Eversden elected to bat first and after losing an early wicket the runs started to flow.

Fortunately for Chatteris Andy Wool ripped through the tailenders with 3-33 and was unlucky not to have a hat-trick with an lbw appeal turned down. Rob Menarry took 3-26. Eversden finished on 219 all out.

After losing opener Connor Cunningham for 16 in the third over the result never looked in any doubt, with fellow opener James Dawson hitting 41 runs and then Alex Platt (85no) and skipper Ant Palmer (66no) putting on a 140-run partnership for the third wicket and knocking off the runs convincingly with seven overs to spare.

Chatteris seconds moved closer to the relegation zone in CCA Junior 2A after losing by 37 runs away from home at Little Downham.

The home side was restricted to 167-6, with Kev Felton being the pick of the bowlers, ending with 3-30.

In reply Chatteris never got going and no one could stay at the crease, apart from Ben Perry 25, and all the other batsman failed as they were bowled out for 130.
