Archie Palmer ton keeps Chatteris on course for CCA Senior League promotion after win at Hardwick & Caldecote

Second-spot Chatteris CC are still on course for promotion from CCA Senior League Division 2 thanks to century-maker Archie Palmer’s rescue act.

Chatteris were 74-5 at Hardwick & Caldecote but Palmer hit 107 not out with 12 fours and three sixes, off 85 balls, and added 107 with Michael Saunders (50 off 71 balls).

This enabled Chatteris to reach 246-7 and win by 64 runs.

Wisbech first team had no fixture and travel to Eaton Socon on Saturday.

Old Leysians 1st XI 121-0 (13.4) 30pts beat Wisbech 2nd XI 120 all out (46.4: Hamish McCulloch 33, Josh Porter 28) 0pts by 10 wickets.

Wisbech 3rd XI 117 all out (38.2: Robert Osbourne 25, Josh Bell 25) 4pts lost to Cambridge NCI 2nd XI 264-5 (40: Rob McGregor 1-28) 20pts by 147 runs.

Sutton 2nd XI 20pts v Wisbech 4th XI conceded 0pts.
