Rain frustrates Chatteris in CCA Senior League clash with Cherry Hinton at Fullers Cricket Ground

Chatteris CC were frustrated as the rain curtailed their CCA Senior League Division 2 match with Cherry Hinton at Fullers Cricket Ground.

Scores: Cherry Hinton won the toss and elected to bat. Cherry Hinton 191-10 (44.5 overs). Chatteris 82-3 (20 overs). Abandoned.

CCA Junior League 2 North, Saturday at Fitzwilliam College. Cambridge NCI 2nd XI won the toss and elected to bat. NCI 2nds 299-10 (39.5 overs) beat Chatteris 2nds 124 all out (32 overs) by 175 runs.

Fixtures Saturday: Barley v Chatteris, Chatteris 2nds v Cambourne 2nd XI.

Hamish McCulloch took 8-4-11-4 and Robert Osbourne 8-3-17-4 as Wisbech Town Saturday 3rds skittled City of Ely 2nds for 64 and won by nine wickets.

March 3rds won for only the third time this season, beating Needingworth 2nds by six wickets at Doddington in CCA Junior League Division 3N.

James Beresford (3-7) and Sam Mason (2-18) had the visitors on the rack at 16-5, only for them to recover and post a useful 140-9.

March skipper Anthony Henson (43) and Harry Stevens (26) produced an opening stand of 70 in quick time in reply.

Beresford then completed a solid all-round display with an undefeated 25 in the winning total of 141-4.

Needingworth 2nd XI 140-9, 40 overs (James Beresford 3-7, Sam Mason 2-18, Geoff Kirby 2-21). March 3rd XI 141-4, 28.2 (Henson 43, Stevens 26, Beresford 25no). Man of the match: James Beresford.

4th XI fixture Saturday, home v Cottenham 2nd XI, CCA Jnr Lge Div 4N, 1.30pm.
