Specially crafted by Gentlemen & Players – who supply caps and clothing to clubs, schools, universities and sporting governing bodies – the cap will be awarded to the WTCC 'Player of the Week.

This will be the club's way of honouring "Strick's" memory, and the legacy he left behind at both the cricket and hockey clubs.

Wisbech Town CC stated: "Paul represented Wisbech for over 20 years, featuring in more than 400 games, as well as being a valuable club member off the field, and a friend to all who knew him.

"He was tragically taken from us in 2017, but his memory lives on in everyone who had the pleasure to meet him.

"Because of his influence on WTCC (and Wisbech Town Hockey Club) players young and old, we have set out to ensure that The Paul Strickle Memorial Cap can be awarded to any player within WTCC – regardless of age or ability.

"Our first recipient will be announced soon."
