March Town Cricket Club host all-day match featuring the MCC

On Friday, March Town Cricket Club are due to host an all-day match starting at 11.30am between March Grammar School Old Boys’ Association and the MCC at The Avenue.

The match is due to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the match played in July 1919 between the ‘March Grammar School Old Boys’ and the masters and boys of the school to raise funds.

It is the first time that the MCC have played at The Avenue.

The prestigious match on Friday is raising money for well-known King’s Lynn-based military charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

A strong March Grammar School Old Boys’ Association side has been assembled which will include guest player and Minor Counties star, Ben Howgego, former club captains Jody Betts and current 1st XI vice captain Nigel Wright, alongside several former Neale-Wade students.

The Old Boys’ team also features Sri Lankan all-rounder Saranga Rajaguru.

Scorer – Norman Topliss. Umpires – Les Mills, John Wallis and Gary Nicholls.
