March Town Utd 2,

Dereham Reserves 1

The Hares came back to win late in the game, which was their first for a fortnight.

March were missing Lewis McManus and Gerard Evans, but had new signing from PNS Nick Davey starting.

Kyle Plumb, one of the Hares’ old favourites, on a loan spell with Dereham gave them all kinds of problems and created the opener on 38 minutes.

Passing became more accurate and confidence grew, and remained even after Dan Woods missed a penalty (his first miss for the Hares).

March drew level 20 minutes from the end. Beeny sent down a long kick, Davey collected it well and went round the defender before he cracked it into the net.

In the final minutes Woods delivered a free-kick with precision, the keeper seemed to fumble as skipper Luke Pepper smashed it home from a yard out.

Star man was Liam Merryweather.

March: David Beeny, Josh Jackman, Callum Young, Liam Merryweather, Jordan Goult, Max Mattless, Tom Flatters (Grant Watson), Luke Pepper, Dan Woods, Ondre Odain (Adam Conyard), Nick Davey (Ash Brand).

Eight-spot March next Saturday travel to Downham Town for a derby and on Tuesday entertain Great Yarmouth Town.
