March Town part company with manager Duke
March Town have parted company with manager Arran Duke after a fifth straight defeat, with U18s boss Ash Taylor being placed in temporary charge.
Duke oversaw The Hares' promotion from the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Division One North to the Premier Division last season - but the going has been tough since.
Last night's 2-1 home defeat to Mildenhall Town made it four league defeats out of four and left March third from bottom, with basement boys Long Melford visiting the GER this coming Saturday.
An officialclub statement reads: "The club can today announce that Arran Duke has been relieved of his duty as first team manager.
"This has been a very difficult decision, and not one that the board has taken lightly. We are grateful to Arran and what he has achieved in his time at the club and wish him well for the future.
"Ash Taylor has been appointed interim manager. We wish him well."
Duke said on Twitter: "So tonight I have been relieved of my duties as March manager. Absolutely heartbroken as I felt we could get things right, but best of luck to the club going forwards."
