Fenland runner Jane ‘rains’ supreme in Olympic Park FV60
Fenland Running Club members have taken to London streets for races over the last two weekends with four racing in the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust Olympic Park 10K on Sunday.
Starting in the Mall and finishing in Spur Street opposite Buckingham Palace in the Vitality London 10K on Bank Holiday Monday, David Hood finished 3,264th in a time of 50:36.
With some tremendous downpours during the Olympic Park 10K, Jane Greenwood still pulled off the 1st FV60 position finishing 351st in 53:12. Ian King was 137th in 46:48; Tracy Adams 412th in 54:07 (PB) and Sally King 781st in 1:12:40 (PB).
On Wednesday, the Peterborough Grand Prix 5K Series of five races got underway with 323 runners in the Nene Valley Harriers-hosted race at Ferry Meadows.
Four FRC men came in under 20 minutes with Andrew Plume and Martin Jennings pushing each other to new PBs and finish 18th and 19th in 17:13 and 17:18 respectively. Paul Griffin was 49th in 18.36 and Rod Sinnott 78th in 19.32.
