WISBECH manager Steve Appleby has set his sights on six points from the home game against Walsham on Saturday and next Tuesday night’s trip to Newmarket in the Ridgeons Premier Division.
Appleby admitted he was frustrated that last weekend’s game at Norwich United was called off but also stated: “I was not too disappointed as we had four players missing and two or three others would have played carrying knocks too. But we now have a fixture pile-up with all the games called off.”
Midfielder Callum Reed will miss the game on Saturday with a two-game ban for 10 bookings, but Scott Johnson has now finished his ban and Lewis Thompson should have recovered from injury in time to play.
Matt Lunn, who has been on holiday, was expected to play against Histon last night.
The Fenmen have already won 2-1 at Walsham in the league and 3-2 at Newmarket in the FA Vase this season and Appleby added: “We have to be looking for six points against these two teams if we are to finish in the top six.
“We will be without Callum Reed but will have other players back so the squad looks strong enough.”
