CHRIS Dear is returning to Wisbech Town to help with the coaching again next season.
Dear, a former Wisbech player and assistant manager, was recently overlooked for the March Town manager’s job and Steve Appleby has stepped in to bring him back to the Fenland Stadium.
Dear quit Wisbech last September because he was struggling to balance the Wisbech job and his son’s games with the Peterborough United academy on Saturdays.
Dear now has his Saturday’s free again and was disappointed not to get the March job but said: “I am really happy to be back at the club working with Steve Appleby and Darren Jimson. Exciting times again.”
Appleby commented: “As soon as Chris Dear became available again we wanted him back at the club he loves so much.
“He will be assisting Darren Jimson and myself and you cannot have enough good people around the club.”
Wisbech midfielder Lewis Thompson will be attending March Town’s first preseason training session next Monday after being approached by manager Paul Crosbie.
Striker Denny Escorcio is expected to sign for Peterborough Northern Star now managed by former March boss Jamie Weston, who is also chasing Luke Pepper.
