The Hares produced a superb performance to win at the Ridgeons Division One fourth placed side despite have to field a much depleted team on Saturday.

Even before they set off they lost Dan Sterna and Adam Cornell to illness and were already without Luke Pepper, Adam Weston and Adam Sutton.

But they still started the game well and went ahead after 10 minutes when Denny Escorcio and Ash Brand combined well before a cross was turned into the net from six yards out by Juliano de Menezes.

March continued to play some good football and Ash Brand was unlucky to see an effort just go past the top corner .

March increased their lead 10 minutes into the second half when Escorcio cut in from the right and his shot beat the keeper.

After 65 minutes it was 3-0 when Brand’s corner was turned into the net by a home defender under pressure from Marc Welcher.

To complete a very good performance Stu Anderson, promoted from the Reserves, added a fourth after being put through by a good ball by Brand and rounded the goalkeeper to score.

In a very open second half there were other chances, too, as Escorcio and Lee Day forced good saves. March keeper Lee Brooks was also called into action making two very good saves.

A delighted March boss Jamie Weston said: “It was a superb performance considering all the difficulties – perhaps as good as any this season. We played some very good football with everyone playing their part and Lee Brooks when he was called upon.

“The lads who came in Stu Anderson and Joe Barnes did very well too.”

March: Lee Brooks, Joe barnes, Jordan Goult, Lee Day, Kyle Plumb, Grant Watson, Marc Welcher, Stu Anderson, Juliano De Menezes, Ash Brand, Denny Escorcio. Sub used: Andy Bryan.
