Wisbech Town 4,

March Town Utd 0

The Fenmen ran out easy winners in their home friendly derby with March last Tuesday night, scoring twice in each half.

Tom James bagged his second pre-season goal and Adam Millson also scored in the first half. Callum Reed and Steve Harley (a penalty when Chris Bacon was brought down) added the second half goals.

Boss Steve Appleby said: “I felt we were well below par. We didn’t pass the ball very well.

“We complicated things and tried too many touches.

“Saturday’s heat had taken a lot out of the boys. There’s still a lot more to come from them.

“A bonus was the four goals and the clean sheet.”

Hares boss Paul Crosbie said: “It was the same story as the three times last year we played Wisbech.

“We didn’t show respect to ourselves and showed too much respect to them. We allowed them to dominate us.

“I have to work out how to get round that mental block. When we got the ball down to play in the second half we did OK.”

Wisbech first half: Tom Roberts, Anthony Reeve, Scott Johnson, Jon Fairweather, Neal Spafford, Steven Reid, Adam Millson, Callum Reed, Matt Lunn, Jack Friend, Tom James. Second half: Lea Jordan, Paul Cousins, Stacy Cartwright, Reeve, Johnson, Reid, Ollie Gale, Danny White, James, Steve Harley, Reed. Subs: Chris Bacon, Lewis Clayton.

March: Collett, Darlow, Otuya, Hipwell, Jackman, Lemmon, Thompson, Gary White, Emmington, Sean White, McKinna.
