WISBECH Town boss Steve Appleby just cannot wait to get his side playing again and they are raring to go if Saturday’s Premier Division game at Woodbridge is not another victim of the weather.
“It has been very frustrating but we have managed to get some training in at Lynnsport and on our own second pitch.
“Then on Wednesday night we are planning to move to the indoors at the Wisbech Boxing Club,” said Appleby.
“We are in the middle of a good run and we need to crack on now and starting picking up more points.
“It will be a tough game at Woodbridge as they have turned their season round since we last played them and have not lost a game.
“The players are raring to go and just want the opportunity to start playing again.”
Appleby has just one injury problem with Aaron Turner, a fireman, having injured his ankle at work.
He commented: “He would not have played at the weekend and remains doubtful for Saturday but everyone else is available.”
The Fenmen manager is not looking to boost his squad at presented admitting: “I have got a good squad here and am very happy with what I have got at the moment.”
But other clubs are showing an interest in striker Ash Stevens who has found it difficult to break into the starting line-up recently but scored a hat-trick for the reserves.
Appleby said:” There have been rumours of clubs showing an interest in Ash but I have spoken to him.
“He has had a stop-go season so far with injuries and holidays but he is quite happy to stay and fight for his place knowing we want him at the club.
“I am sure he will get his chance very soon.
“We have a lot of games still to go and, if the weather persists, the fixtures will come thick and fast.
“So we need a squad of 16 players at least and I am sure everyone will get their chance.”
