ROLL UP, roll up to the GER on January 7 when March Town are throwing open the gates for free admission for the Ridgeons Division One game against Halstead.
Brett Whaley’s side have been doing the business on the park this season with five straight wins, but the success has yet to grab the attention of March folk.
Although 129 turned up for the local derby against Downham on Boxing Day, the two previous home gates had been 35 and 68.
Chairman Phil White said: “We are second in the league, but we are just not getting the fans out to support the team. We had 129 on Boxing Day and that is what we should be getting every week. Hopefully by offering free admission we can attract a bumper crowd and some will be impressed enough to keep coming back.”
March attracted a crowd of 1,109 for their FA Cup tie against Wisbech in September, but Monday’s crowd was the biggest since then.
