Greens get a great start


Hungate Greens 11, Discovery 0

Hungate got their season off to a cracking start with every player contributing to a good all round team performance.

Goals came from Thomas Skuse (4), Lewis Forth (3) Lewis Jackson (2), Jack Dida and Jay Rout. Special mention to Aaron Buckley who was committed despite a serious injury early on.


Blackstones 1,

Wisbech St Mary Yellow 1

Blackstones took the the lead with a breakaway goal and Saints then turned up the heat with an equaliser from Reece Hughes in another good all round display.

Estover Park 2, Woottons 3

The boys were handed a tough opener against last season’s runners up.

MoM Garrison Asher gave Estover the lead with a sweet volley from a corner. Woottons fought back to lead before Luke Thorne levelled with a header. The Woottons broke ahead again to lead at half time. Estover were denied by the post late on.

Boston Black 0 Leverington 8

Leverington were too strong in a great team performance.

Goalscorers: Tommy Wiles two, James Towson two fantastic free-kicks and MoM Billy Carman four.


Netherton Utd Owls 6,

Wisbech St Mary Purples 2

It was 1-1 at half time but after the break Netherton scored a couple of goals in quick succession which led to Purples dropping their heads.

Purples came back with one last push to score a late consolation. Goals: Lucas Ablett, Bartek Ziabka,


Acorns 0, WSM 1

WSM started under new manager, Callum Brown, with a good win against a strong Acorns side after an even first half. WSM controlled most of the second with Ross Beart scoring after a very good move in an entertaining game.


Fulbourn Falcons 2,

Chatteris White 5

Two very early goals, one from Jordan Dover and one from new signing Charlie Pitt, gave a dominant Chatteris a comfortable start of the new season.

Two more goals, again from Dover and Pitt, increased the lead, before late in the first half Fulbourn scored twice.

In the second half Pitt completed his debut hat-trick.

Leverington Whites 12,

Spalding Athletic 0

Champions Leverington started the new season in strong form, scoring eight goals in the first half.

Goalscorers: Brad Easey 2, Matt Ryan 3, Ashley Payne, Harrison Wrate 2, Jake Hopkisson 2, Ben Calvert, Matt Cousins.

WSM Yellow 0,

Leverington Blue 7

Blues got their season off to a fine start despite playing most of the game with 10 men after they lost Mac Minall with a serious injury.

Blues led 3-0 at the break and their scorers were: Ryan McManus 5 and Ryan Allen 2.

Wisbech Acorns 4, Eye Utd 1

After an early goal by Eye against the run of play, Acorns passing game saw them take a 3-1 half time lead with two goals from Rob Munden and a splendid long range shot from Dale Richardson.

Acorns dominated the second half and Ben Lister netted a goal.

Littleport 2, Chatteris 2

Chatteris kicked off their season by coming from two goals down to share the points.

Sam McWilliam’s brilliant turn and shot reduced the deficit and in the second half great hussling by Tyler Cane lead to Dan McDermott smashing in the equaliser.
