March Town host neighbours Wisbech Town on Saturday in the annual BKD Cup, with proceeds from the gate going to charity yet to be designated.

An under 8 junior game is due to kick-off at 2.15pm before the derby clash.

The Hares did not risk Adam McKinna last Saturday due to a knee twinge and are looking at forward Ryan Alexander who was at Gorefield last year.

The Hares went to Yaxley last night (Tuesday).
Danny Emmington and Marc Hipwell were due to miss that game but both should return for the clash with the Fenmen.

Sean White is struggling with a quad injury.

Boss Steve Appleby said: “To be fair to March there is local pride at stake. They will get one over us at some point in the future, there are no guarantees. We need to improve from our last game.”

Appleby had a virtually full squad for last night’s game but has four or five out for March. It does give the youngsters a chance to stake a claim for the UCL kick-off in a week’s time.

“Jack Friend and Lewis Clayton will be involved on Saturday. Both have done fairly well in pre-season,” added Appleby.

“Ollie Gale has come on loads since last year and is ready to stake a regular claim. At first he was in and out of the side. We’re looking for Ollie to keep carrying on his improvement, and we hope that encourages Jack and Lewis. We’ve been a successful side, while in a lesser side they would have got more game time.”
