Hectic spell seals title

Chatteris 3, Priory Parkside 2

Chatteris Town White have won the Cambs and District Colts League Division A after playing four games in a week.

The victory against Priory Parkside clinched the title with one match still to play.

The boys had beaten Milton 4-2 on Wednesday with goals from Luke Bailey, Matthew Lilley and Charlie Pitt 2.

On Friday they lost 2-1 against Cambourne with Asa Revell on target.

On Sunday Chatteris trailed 2-0 against Parkside before goals from Dale Browne and Revell equalised the score before half time.

The second half saw chance after chance go astray, before a few minutes before the end, John Day passed to Revell who produced a great shot to make it 3-2 for Chatteris.

League champions at last, after finishing two years as runners-up!

Chatteris 2, Bar Hill 2

A lack of quality in the final third and a Bar Hill goalkeeper in inspired form cost title chasing Chatteris Tigers two points in this draw.

Chatteris keeper Jamie Hughes made a brilliant one handed save on two minutes, but from the resulting corner the visitors took the lead.

Ransome’s clever pass to Crane lead to a cross which was converted by Damon Beckett to level the score.

But on the stroke of half-time a 25 yard free kick restored Bar Hill’s advantage.

Chatteris pressed in the second half, McWilliams shooting wide and Josh Joyce’s efforts saved by the feet and then he hit the bar. On 72 minutes Joyce managed to find time in the box and slotted home the equaliser.

Substitute Billy Dean (mom) who was solid in defence.

Chatteris now need to win next week against Littleport and hope Eaton Socon take at least a point from Papworth.

Hungate Rovers 10, Powerleague 1

Rovers completed a most successful season defeating rivals Powerleague to take the league and PFA cup double.

Hungate dominated from start to finish and were 5-0 ahead at half-time.

This was an impressive team performance as every player stepped up their game to take the honours and finish two points clear at the top of Peterborough Junior Alliance Division 1.

Rovers are looking to strengthen their squad for next year for under 14.
