Hungate off to fine start

Hungate Rovers 5

Hungate got off to a good start with a comfortable win, scorers were Ryan McManus, Tom Ward, Jack Hepting, Brad Sheldrake and Josh Ovendale,

New goalkeeper Marley Woods made a fine debut.

Wisbech St Mary Purples 0, Leverington Blue 5

The Blues squandered chances in the first period but stayed strong to keep the third clean sheet of three games.

MoM Jordan Webb got a quick hat-trick and controlled football earned two more goals from Gus Newton and Callum Willoughby.

Leverington Blues 2,

Deeping Rangers 2

Leverington went a goal down to a controversial penalty but Ben Longmuir equalised.

Bradley Easey scored but Deeping equalised.

Holbeach 2, Wisbech Acorns 4

Acorns bounced back with a splendid display of passing football.

Somehow they found themselves 2-0 down at half time, but goals came from Jordi Scott-Henson, MoM Xavier Kitching, Ben Lister and Ben Cooper.


Girton 2, Chatteris 2

Wind assisted Chatteris dominated the first half and a direct 30-yard free kick by Sam Merryweather gave the Tigers the half-time lead.

Girton rallied and went ahead.

With only seconds on the watch MoM Frankie Ransome’s quick free-kick found Crane, his cross was turned in smartly by Sam McWilliams for an equaliser.


WSM 2, Stamford 1

WSM found themselves a goal down after five minutes when they conceded from a corner kick. After this they controlled in midfield and a good move allowed Reagan Brown to score.

The second half continud with Saints on top. Jack Witney put them in front with the second goal.


Ryhall Utd 1,

Wisbech St Mary Yellows 2

An understrength WSM Yellows played a very strong Ryhall team.

Jack Gale and Ben Gale ensured a 2-0 lead at half-time. However WSM took their foot of the pedal in the second half and invited Ryhall onto them, before Ryhall scored a consolation goal with five minutes left to play. Man of the match was Ellie Nobbs for a very determined display.


Thorney 0, Leverington 3

This was a great cup game, with Leverington playing a team from a higher devision.

New signing Tommy Wiles’ workrate was excellent, and got himself on the scoresheet.

James Towson added the other two goals.

MoM was Liam Dennis.

Wisbech St Mary Yellow 3, Feeder Soccer 1

a Closely contested game ended in a 1-1 draw at the end of normal time with Saints progressing through to the next round 3-1 (AET). Goals from Jon Cullen, Reece Hughes and Seb Ziabka.

March Soccer School A 2

March went behind and they were 2-1 up before conceding a penalty in the dying seconds.

The hosts dominated and on target were MoM Brody Warren with 4, Willis Wright a hat-trick and a brace from Brandon Furneux.
