Park’s title hopes alive

Estover Park 4, Clenchwarton 0

Park kept their slim chances of the title alive with this comfortable win.

Emma Searle scored from her own half with a speculative long shot before an excellent one-two with Sydney Davis got her a second goal.

Davis set up Zoe Birch for the third, before a Megan Rooney cross was knocked in by Davis. Paris Wakelen (pom) gave a combative display.

Burwell 0, Wisbech St Mary 9

This was a very encouraging performance from Saints in the cup and gives them a lot of confidence going into the next game.

The result was a reward for the incredible work they put in on the day. Jade Chamberlain hit seven goals and Caitlin Cossey two.

Sawtry 2, Estover Park 2

Estover Park continued their fantastic form with a draw against the league leaders.

They scored first in horrendous conditions with a through ball from Plitsch for Newell to beat the keeper.

The wind assisted the Sawtry equaliser, the ball bouncing past off the keeper.

Park continued the battle and got some luck from an own goal after a dangerous corner from Anderson.

Sawtry equalised again with a great run and finish.

Hungate 3, Bishop’s Stortford 1

In a thrilling cup-tie both teams started slowly, but then Hungate started playing some good football and took the lead through Carlie Knight with a well taken goal. Mollie Sargent increased the lead to 2-0 at half time.

In the second half the visitors got a goal back and a Phoebe Murphy goal put the game safe at 3-1. Millie Rees did well for Hungate.

Sawtry Colts 1, Estover Park 3

Estover were switched on this week with a new formation and after five minutes some good passing from the whole team set up Noami Mcgarvie for her first goal. Estover had more chances in the half but could not convert them.

Five minutes into the second half Estover’s Mcgarvie made it 2-0. Sawtry pulled a goal back but Estover added a third with Hana Howsam on target.
