PAUL COUSINS will be staying with Wisbech Town next season despite already having inquiries from three local UCL clubs including King’s Lynn to move.

The central defender freely admits it has not been his best season for one reason or another but is already looking forward to the 2012-13 campaign.

The 30-year-old began the season with King’s Lynn but was shown the door there before having spells with Soham Town and Wroxham before returning to Wisbech at the end of the year.

Cousins said this week: “It has not been a good season for me and I am just pleased to get it over and take a break.

“King’s Lynn, Spalding and Holbeach have already made inquiries for me, but I am already committed to Wisbech Town and really looking forward to next season.

“I think we have some unfinished business regarding the Ridgeons League title. There is a great team spirit at the club and it is the best I have known over the last seven years.

“We have a fantastic bunch of players and it shows with so many already committing to play again for Steve Appleby.”

Appleby commented: “Paul has not had the best of seasons and will have a complete break from football to get his head clear and focused for next season and I am sure we will see a better player.”
