Poor day for Hares

Whitton United 4,

March Town United 0

Hares boss Paul Crosbie said about Saturday’s Thurlow Nunn League Division One defeat: “It was 4-0 but it could have been going on 10 or 12. It would be difficult to play worse than that.

“If we do that again then we’ll occupy the bottom four for the rest of the season.

“We should have gone 1-0 up but somehow contrived to put the ball over from a few yards from a corner. They took a quick goal-kick, went up the other end and scored.

“Then the players turned their back on the ball and we were 2-0 down at half-time.”

He was also not happy about Whitton’s third goal just after half-time: “The ball was kicked out of the goalkeeper’s hands.”

The fourth goal came when a home midfielder was allowed to run 40 yards unchallenged and crossed for their left-winger to score to complete a poor afternoon for the Hares.

March Town host Great Yarmouth Town on Saturday and travel to Fakenham Town next Wednesday. Jake Ogden will be on holiday for Yarmouth while Gary White should return from a back injury.

March: Collett, Ogden, Lemmon, Mattless, Hipwell, Darlow, Jackson, Thompson, Richardson, Howell, S. White. Subs: Blanchflower, McKenna.
