Midfielder Steven Reid rescued a late point with a cracking Fenmen leveller in the ChromaSport & Trophies UCL Premier on Saturday.

Wisbech Town were 2-0 down at ‘early doors’ but goals from Jon Fairweather and Adam Millson got them back in it at 2-3 behind at half-time.

Danny Beaumont scored in the second half before Reid smashed in from 25 yards after a throw-in.

Fenmen boss Dick Creasey said: “It was a thriller for the supporters but not for a manager.

“They had pace and we couldn’t cope. We had to change the formation, because they were playing five across the middle, and we matched them like for like.

“When you get a goal at the end like that you take it as a win, but letting in four goals like that was disappointing.

“Tommy Treacher made their goalkeeper pull off a really good save at the end.”

Scott Johnson will return to the squad for next weekend’s trip to Harborough Town, while fellow defender and assistant boss Paul Cousins may be handed a recall to the starting XI.

Wisbech: Jordan, Spafford, Fairweather, Horne, Wilson (Cousins), Cobb (Lunn), Reid, Millson, Smith, Beaumont, Ford (Treacher). Sub not used: Bayliss.

Wisbech Reserves had a 3-1 win over Uppingham Town in the Peterborough Senior Cup. Goal scorers: Jacob Smith, Ryan Charalambous and Alfa Jalo.
