Result harsh on Hares

March Town Utd 0, Godmanchester Rvrs 4

Hares boss Paul Crosbie thought this FA Vase defeat was unfair on his side’s efforts.

Crosbie said: “Don’t get me wrong, we didn’t deserve to win but the scoreline was a harsh reflection.

“Our attitude and application was spot on.”

March could’ve scored before they went behind on 22 minutes but Max Mattless bent his shot around the post.

Crosbie said a key moment in Saturday’s game hinged on Rovers’ second goal on 54 minutes.

“In the second half there was an inexplicable passage of play. A free-kick was awarded against Paul Richardson but Lewis Thompson was dispossessed with an identical tackle just before that.

“The ball went from the centre circle to the centre forward who controlled the ball with his hand and scored.”

March’s next game is not until October 5.

March: Flintoff, Dunlop, Lemmon, Jackman, Mattless, Ogden (S White), Jackson (Hipwell), Thompson, Richardson, G White, Darlow. Not used: Blanchflower.
