Newly-promoted Tydd St Mary FC got their ChromaSport & Trophies Peterborough League Division Three season off to a flyer on Saturday with seven first half goals.

With eight summer signings on board, management duo of Carl Wilson and Dave Monaghan were well prepared.

The Saints scored after just 90 seconds. Matty Eaton nodded home a corner from skipper Gary Booth.

Dan Piccaver set up Nick Reims to score for 2-0. Further goals came from Piccaver, Eaton, Phil Franklin, Stu Easey, Reims and substitute Callum Matthews, set up by fellow sub Joe Evling-White.

In the Cambs League Kershaw Premier sixth place Wisbech St Mary lost at Over Sports 3-1.

Chatteris Town had a close 1-2 Senior A home defeat by second-spot Fowlmere. Chatteris replied with a superb Shaun Simpson chip from 35 yards.
