WISBECH Town boss Steve Appleby will be looking for another three points when Clacton are the visitors to the Fenland Stadium on Saturday after winning the away game 5-1 last August.
Appleby has asked his players not to look at the league table for the moment and said: “I think once we have caught some of the games up you will see a massive difference in the table if we can get a string of results together. Also other teams are beating each other and our target must still be promotion.”
Although Anthony Reeve is available again after suspension, Appleby may prefer to give him more rest for his groin injury now that Paul Cousins is back.
Appleby was very happy with the former skipper’s performance at Yarmouth. “It was like he had never been away and he produced one really good tackle to halt a Yarmouth attack and also hit the woodwork at the other end.
“He is a real leader on the park and we have missed that this season.”
Wisbech are also in action at home on Tuesday night when they entertain Soham Town Rangers in the Cambs Invitation Cup quarter-finals (7.45).
Former Fenmen Andy Furnell is manager at Soham and when the two teams met in a friendly preseason it ended in a 1-1 draw.
Appleby has taken his side to a cup final in the first two seasons of his reign and is keep to compete the hat-trick this season.
