Wisbech Town FC summer marquee signing Stuart Wall has announced that he is retiring from playing on medical grounds.
He recently suffered a recurrence of a broken foot in the Fenmen’s game at Cogenhoe and under medical advice, 28-year-old Wall has reluctantly had to bring to an end a career which spanned 14 years and over 300 games in non-league alone.
Wisbech Town manager Brett Whaley had this to say about the defender: “I’m gutted for Stuart, he has been so unfortunate with injuries recently and now has had to stop playing on medical advice.
“We never got to see the best of him on the field whilst he was regaining fitness, but the squad all got to know what a great character he is to have in your dressing room.
“We all wish Wally all the best and hope to see him at a game some time soon!”
Wall previously injured his knee while playing for neighbours King’s Lynn Town (pictured).
