Four wins on the trot for Leverington Sports
Leverington Sports made it four wins on the bounce when they beat Deeping United 5-0 in the Peterborough League Premier Division on Saturday. The victory means they are now in eighth place but just five points off the top.
In Division One, Long Sutton Athletic achieved just their second win of the campaign, beating Stilton United 5-2. Jack Greenacre netted twice for The Magpies with Jack Baker, Lewis Horne and Jamal Nyang also on target.
Sutton Bridge United are still top of Division Two after a 5-1 home win over Crowland Town Reserves, Ben Partridge netting twice and Jack Thomas also among the goals.
In the same division, Leverington Sports Reserves drew 3-3 at Peterborough Polonia, Kai Mackie scoring and Kevin Robalo netting a brace. Tydd beat Stamford Belvedere Reserves 4-0, Kai Scott-Henson scoring twice and Daniel Cassidy and Brandon Harker also among the goals.
Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were beaten 7-0 at Stamford Reserves and Leverington Sports A went down 3-1 at Kings Cliffe.
In the Cambs County League Senior A, March Town Reserves won 3-2 at Thaxted Rangers. March controlled the first half and opened the scoring at the midway point when Conor Bancans whipped a shot in from the edge of the box.
It stayed that way until half time, but within 15 minutes of the restart Liam Monaghan finished on the half volley from a corner and a Conor Bancans penalty made it 3-0. Then complacency crept in and The Hares conceded twice but managed to hold on for the win.
Fellow Senior A outfit Wimblington made it three wins out of three when thrashing Senior B side Abington United 9-1 in the Cliff Bullen Cup, Rory Parker and sub Seb Goldspink both grabbing braces and Daniel Harridine, Thomas Hinton, Kyle Liddy, Billy Munns and another sub, Dominic Butt, also netting.
Outwell Swifts are up to second in 1B after a 4-0 home win over Benwick Athletic (Christchurch), Adan-Jay Lewis and Ross Beart each scoring twice. In the same division, March Town A drew 0-0 with The Eagle.
In 2B, Wisbech St Mary Reserves beat Manea United 5-4, and Wisbech St Mary Development A are top of 3B after beating Beach 1-0.
In Division 3N of the Anglian Combination, Marshland Saints won 6-3 at Briston.
