Freear is new Wisbech CC skipper

Wisbech Town Cricket Club held its annual meeting at the Harecroft Road Pavilion.

With Alan Burton extending his stay in New Zealand, Gary Freear will return to a role that he has held previously– 1st XI and club captain.

Wisbech will once again field age group teams from under 10 through to 16.

Pre-season junior training sessions are being held from 5.30pm on Monday evenings in the Wisbech Grammar School sports hall.

Captains for 2015 are - Saturday: 1sts – Gary Freear, 2nds – Jamie Gollands, 3rds – Paul Strickle, 4ths – John Mallett. Sunday: 1sts – Dominic Stannard, 2nds – John Mallett, 3rds – Elliott Peck.

Senior nets are also being held at Wisbech Grammar School at 6pm on Wednesdays.

The season begins with Cricket Force on March 28 followed by the annual two day fixture against the MCC on April 8/9.

Members signing on day will be held on April 12.

Harecroft Road will host the Cambridgeshire County three day Unicorns fixture v Buckinghamshire on June 21, 22 and 23.
