March Town striker Jack Friend has signalled his intentions to stay with the club.

The Citizen reported earlier this week that Friend was considering a switch to Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Wisbech Town.

However, a club statement from The Hares earlier today confirmed that their star forward will stay within their ranks.

It read: "The club are delighted to announce that striker Jack Friend has committed to continuing his outstanding footballer career with the Hares."

Discussing his potential switch to the front man-searching Fenmen on Monday, March boss Ashley Taylor said: "He's adored at the football club by myself, the board and the supporters. Everyone wants him to stay.

"What he does off the ball, on the ball, the goals he scores, his personality within the group - he's a top lad as well as a top player.

"He's crucial for us, and he enjoys his football here. He feels at home, so hopefully he stays."
