March’s Gary Waldock-Goude a late bloomer with British Adult Gymnastics Championships at Lilleshall fifth spot




March’s Gary Waldock-Goude showed that it is never too late to learn gymnastics when taking up the sport in his 30s.

He picked up a fifth spot in the 30-45 category at the British Adult Gymnastics Championships at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Telford.

The 39-year-old represented Huntingdon Gymnastics Club within the men’s artistic framework.

He has begun getting involved in gymnastics in the past few years and gained a silver medal last year in the same event.

Goude’s scoring went as follows in the order he participated in. Rings: 12.200. Vault: 11.400. Parallel Bars: 11.850. Horizontal Bar: 11.400. Floor: 11.600. Pommel Horse: 11.150. His category was MAG over 30 novice.

He said: “My next competition will be the Colchester School of Gymnastics’ Adult Competition on October 13th, and I aim for next year for the British Adult Championships at Lilleshall in moving up to the next category, MAG over 30 Intermediate.”
