The youth team of Chatteris Kingfishers competed in the third round of the Peterborough mini-meets.

The five boys raced the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 200m front crawl and the 11 girls competed in the 50m front crawl, 50m breaststroke and 200 I.M., all trying to improve on their times from the first round.

Out of the 44 races, 33 were indeed swum in personal best times, a great achievement, as was the fact that there was only one disqualification, for an early start!

Notable results included Hallie White (11) who finished second in 50m front crawl and Megan Dawson (12) third in her age group, both girls finishing in sixth place in the 200m I.M., as did Chloe Cook (10).

Chloe also finished in 6th place in both her 50m front crawl and 50m breaststroke, with Hallie finishing in 6th and 7th and Megan in 6th and 5th place in 200 I. M. and 50m breaststroke.

Maisie Harper, Kiara Kovacs, Kiera Simpson, Molly Noble and Naomi Lambert di Marco (all 11) battled it out between them, all swimming personal bests.

Thomas Hanley (10) finished third in both 50m butterfly and 200m front crawl, with a second place in 50m backstroke, whilst his rival Riley Astley finished in third, sixth and third place in those races.

Nine-year old Freddie Allen again showed his fly talent by finishing in third place in 50m butterfly and in fourth in 50m backstroke.

The other competing swimmers were Harry Rayner (9), Oliver Ayres (11), Anastassja Herdien (9), Melissa Ablett (10) and Amy Cooper (11).
