Reigning holders March through to the last four of Hinchingbrooke Cup with Whittlesey Athletic triumph

A last-gasp winner from Harvey Henderson saw March Town book their place in the last four of the Hinchingbrooke Cup with a 3-2 win at Whittlesey Athletic last night.

The club's recent signing struck late on after the reigning holders had been pegged back twice by their Thurlow Nunn First Division North hosts.

Skipper Craig Gilles put the Hares in front, only for Whittesley to redress the balance before Ben Tait gave March a 2-1 lead going into the break.

Craig Gillies was one of the March Town scorers in a 3-2 Hinchingbrooke Cup success against Whittlesey Athletic on Wednesday night.

The battling home outfit levelled matters for a second time but Henderson - a recent acquisition from Grantham Town - had the final say to send the Hares into the last eight.

On Saturday, March Town will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways in the UCL Premier Division South when they travel to Hinckley AFC.

March Town: Gill, Burrow, Saunders (Brumby), Withers (Green), Emmington, Henderson, Biggs, Tait (Foy), Gillies, Escorcio (Allen), Williams (Cotton).
