March Town Reserves draw but Wimblington beaten on the road




March Town United Reserves drew 1-1 at Sawston United in the Cambs County League Senior A on Saturday, but Wimblington went down 4-2 at Saffron Walden Town Reserves, Jay Rout and Liam Brady netting for the visitors.

Premier Division Wisbech St Mary are through to the next round of the Cliff Bullen Challenge Cup after a walkover win against Senior B outfit Cottenham United.

In 1B, Wisbech St Mary Reserves made it three wins from three with an 8-1 win at Needingworth United, Kalvzny, Pawel getting a hat-trick, with Tristan Jones, Richard Mills and Kamil Staniec also among the scorers.

Chatteris Town Reserves also have a 100% record after beating Great Paxton 3-1 at home, Rueben Beaney, Charlie Munns and Dillon Stevens scoring. Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) are bottom of the table after a 5-1 defeat at Alconbury.

Manea United suffered a first defeat of the season in 2B, 4-3 to Willingham Wolves, while Wisbech St Mary Development A drew 5-5 at Crusaders 2019, sub Jack Codrington netting twice and Oliver Cottrill, Harvey Wood and other sub Haydn Gadsden scoring.

Wisbech St Mary B are joint top of 3B after a 6-2 win at AEK United, and in 4C Wimblington Reserves beat Hinchingbrooke United 5-2, Jack Davis netting twice and Ben McDermott, Joe Waters and sub Robbie Ryan also on target.

In the same division, Marshland Saints Reserves beat Mepal and Sutton Reserves 4-2, Ryan Benton scoring three and Alan Jex also netting.

Wisbech Town Acorns lost 3-0 at home to Stretham Reserves, and Chatteris Town A drew 2-2 at home to Brampton, Ethan Bills and sub Aston Bills scoring. Outwell Swifts Reserves won 5-1 at Littleport Rangers.

Whittlesey Athletic Reserves lost 2-1 at Oakham United in the Premier Division of the Peterborough League, Metehan Eskikoy on target, while Leverington Sports lost 4-0 at Eye Rangers and Chatteris Town were beaten 2-1 at Uppingham Town, Ewan Young on target.

Wisbech Town Reserves lost 5-2 at home to Oundle Town in Division One, Connah Hunt and Ryan Murray scoring, while in Division Two, Leverington Sports Reserves were beaten 4-2 at home by Whittlesey Athletic Development, Kieran Bates netting twice for Sports and Oscar Loades netting a brace for Athletic, with Cody Gautry and Finley Coulson also on target.

Sutton Bridge United lost 2-1 at Hampton United, Aaron Rouse scoring, and in Division Three, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with an emphatic 9-1 win at Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves, Tyler Hagan scoring three, Jack Baker two and Jack Barron, Ryan Cousins, Harry Munson and sub Calvin Bird also on target.

In Division Two of the Anglian Combination, Marshland Saints’ 100% record was ended with a 5-0 thumping at unbeaten SWFC Lingwood.
