March Town look for return to winning ways against Whittlesey Athletic

March Town entertain Whittlesey Athletic in the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday evening.

United Counties Premier South side March play a step higher in the non-league pyramid than their Thurlow Nunn First Division North opponents but will be taking nothing for granted after a recent poor run of form.

On Saturday The Hares will be looking to return to winning ways in the league when they entertain struggling Desborough Town.

March, whose game at bottom side Leicester Nirvana was postponed at the weekend because of a waterlogged pitch, now entertain the second-bottom side.

Ar Tarn have only three league wins from 18 games this season, but clicked on Saturday with a 5-1 home win against Rugby Borough.

Third-place March led the league earlier this month but go into Saturday’s game with just one win in their last five games. But with striker Jack Friend having returned after a spell at Ely City and Magic Smalls having signed from Downham Town, they will be looking for an upturn in fortunes.

Former Bedford Town, Deeping Rangers and Kettering Town goalkeeper Lewis Elsom will be in the Hares squad on Saturday having signed on loan from National League North outfit Peterborough Sports.
