March win again, Parson Drove draw, Wisbech defeated and Wisbech St Mary postponed
There was a win, a draw, a gallant defeat and a postponement for our four senior football teams this afternoon.
March are up to a season's best seventh in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division after a 2-0 home win over Haverhill Rovers this afternoon.
Craig Gillies gave the Hares a 65th minute lead from the penalty spot after a handball for his 13th of the campaign and Eoin McQuaid curled the second into the corner of the net from the edge of the area 14 minutes later, to make it seven games undefeated.
In the First Division North, Parson Drove drew 1-1 at home to promotion-hunting Norwich CBS. Drove took a first half lead with Ryan Lennon's ninth goal of the season and CBS also had a player sent off before the break, but equalised in the second half.
In the same division, Wisbech St Mary's game at home to leaders Downham Town was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
In the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division, a spirited Wisbech Town performance was not enough to gain a point from joint leaders Halesowen Town, as a 16th minute goal from the visitors saw them win 1-0.
