March Town Ladies FC look forward to new-look S Tech Premier League

By Pete Woodhouse

March Town Ladies FC are looking forward to the coming season in the new-look S Tech Premier League.

Previously, Cambs FA have organised three leagues with a North and South Division, as well as the Premier, but this coming season there are only two divisions – the Premier and the Championship.

It means that the standard of football is consistent each week and makes both leagues really competitive.

For the coming season, the Hares have an additional coach in Richard Lorraine, who has vast experience including managing the Hares’ men’s reserve team.

The squad has also expanded with lots of youngsters coming through, ex-players returning and picking up quality players from teams that have folded.

Manager Gary Davis said: “It looks like an exciting season for the team, with friendlies lined up against Cambs Police, Cardea, Newmarket Town and our annual Brian Lake Charity Cup match vs Leverington (previously Wisbech Town).

“The league structure and fixtures means games nearly every week and that’s a big improvement on last season, where there were long periods of non-games.

“We have started open training sessions this month and we’re keen to attract more players in to join the club.”

Training begins at the start of July; call Gary Davis on 07824 337771 or email davis.cjwjs@talktalk.net for details on joining the club.
