March Town Reserves hit higher-division Isleham United for six in Cup




March Town Reserves are through to the next round of the Cliff Bullen Challenge Cup after an emphatic 6-0 home win over Isleham United, who play in the division above The Hares.

Goals came from Oliver Belton, Adam Mills, Billy Munns and subs Joshua Bryant, Taylor Harvey and Oliver Hill.

Manager Kieran Daplyn said: “I love that three of our scorers are under 18s and two of them also provided assists. We are a young group and delivered the quality. We now look forward to a local derby with Chatteris in the next round.”

In the group stage of the William Cockell Memorial Cup. Wimblington drew 3-3 at home with Histon Reserves in an all-Senior A clash, Daniel Harradine, Jay Rout and sub Liam Brady on target.

Cambs County 1B side Wisbech St Mary Reserves continued their great start to the season with a 6-3 win at Wisbech Town Reserves of Peterborough League Division One in the Cambs Junior Cup. Harry Ashby netted twice for the Fenmen and Connah Hunt was also on target.

Outwell Swifts also progress after a 7-0 win at Wicken Amateurs, Jack Brand helping himself to four goals, man of the match Ross Beart getting two, and Ryan Shinn also on target.

Wisbech St Mary B beat Mepal and Sutton 5-3 in the first round of the John Ablett Cup, and in the Cambs Lower Junior Cup, AEK United of Guyhirn beat Wimblington Reserves 3-2 and Outwell Swifts Reserves thrashed Leverington Sports Development 6-0.

In the same competition, Chatteris Town Reserves triumphed 1-0 at Wisbech Acorns. Stanley Leach scored for the Lilies and Cory Grimes was red carded for the home team.

In the Norfolk Primary Cup, Marshland Saints Reserves beat Rockland United Reserves 5-3.

Whittlesey Athletic Development lost 6-0 at Willingham Wolves in the Junior Challenge Cup and, in the Cyril Ballen Cup, Marshland Saints triumphed 5-2 at Corton & Carlton Colville, Callum Rogers bagging a hat-trick and David Abbott and Eddie McGahren also on target.

In the quarter-final of the Peterborough Senior Cup, Leverington Sports lost 4-1 at home to Stamford Belvedere, Andria Chimwaradze scoring.

Long Sutton Athletic won 5-2 at Boston Athletic in the Inter-Services Cup, Jordan Keeble netting twice to make it eight for the season and Jack Fowler, Blake Greenacre and sub Alfie Butcher also scoring.

In the same competition, Tydd won 5-2 at Sutton Bridge United, Craig Pack and Jack Thomas scoring for the home team and Robert Hitchcock and Samuel Bedwell-Byatt each getting a brace for Tydd, with sub Antony Bonnett also scoring.

Wisbech St Mary drew 0-0 at Milton in the Cambs County League Premier Division.

Chatteris Town Reserves are joint top of 1B after beating The Eagle 4-1, Reuben Beaney getting a hat-trick and Dillon Stevens also on target.

Wisbech St Mary Development A were thrashed 7- 1at Houghton & Wyton in 2B, Bailey Smart scoring, and in 3B, March Academy lost 3-1 at Bluntisham Rangers Reserves, Jack Conyard netting for Academy.

In the Peterborough League Premier Division, Whittlesey Athletic Reserves lost 4-1 at Ramsey Town, Donnel Agyeman and Metehan Eskikoy scoring.

In Division Two, Leverington Sports Reserves were beaten 7-1 at home by Ramsey Town Reserves, Grady Goode scoring for Sports.

Long Sutton Athletic Reserves won 4-1 at Stamford Lions Reserves in Division Three,
