Hosts Leverington Three Counties Running Club's Maisie wins 1k race of annual Santa Run in Wisbech Park
Sunday saw Three Counties Running Club host their fourth annual Santa Run in Wisbech Park.
It was a fresh day but the sun shone on all the runners and volunteers.
The 54-entry 1k event was for all abilities with children, adults and non-runners all dressed up in festive clothing taking part.
The club's own Maisie Macdonald led the race from the off and won in a time of 3:48. The first male finisher was Armandas Gestautas in fourth place.
The 5k race again saw 54 runners taking part of all ages and dressed up in Santa hats, tinsel and bells. The winner was Steven Franklin in 19:04 and the first female in 8th place was Millie Harris in 22:52.
All runners in both events were presented with medals and Krispy Kreme doughnuts with the male and female winner in each race receiving a box of chocolates from the club's chairman Gary Ingrey.
TCRC had 13 runners taking part as most were supporting by volunteering for the event. The club runners were Kersten Müller, Melvin Green, Laura Vincent, Amy Baxter, Tamara Barnes, Diane Petchell, Lisa Woolley, Andi Woolley and Junior Runners, Ruby Baxter, Finley Turner, William Durkin, Keira Fines and Isaac Western.
The club would like to say a special thank you to everyone who supported and volunteered, all the runners, The Mayor, walking football, Finchy’s Hog Roast, Melvin Green and Active Fenland.
Whilst some of the club were having a festive run, seven members took part in the Thetford Trails 10k race which was the 1st in the 10k Winter Series of three events.
The race starts and finishes at High Lodge and takes in the beautiful trails of Thetford forest. The single loop race was pretty much all up hill and even with the sun out it was still rather chilly in places.
