March Town face St Neots and Mulbarton Wanderers in a huge week for the club
March Town are faced with two massive home games this week as they look to enhance their good start to the season on two fronts.
The Hares face St Neots at home in a massive UCL Premier Division South encounter on Tuesday night before switching their attentions to the FA Vase and a home game against Thurlow Nunn League side Mulbarton Wanderers on Saturday.
New assistant manager Simon Roberts is relishing the prospect of hosting the play-off-chasing Saints.
Roberts took his place in the dugout for March Town for the Hares in a week that saw manager Ash Taylor step down before reversing his decision a few days later.
"The pitch will be better and we'll have a big crowd behind us," he said after the 2-2 draw with Lutterworth Town at the weekend.
"March have been getting some big gates so that'll be nice to witness and St Neots are a good outfit.
"It should be a really good game and coming away with a point from Saturday should give us lots of confidence going into Tuesday.
Lutterworth Town were twice in front against Taylor's side who displayed all of their battling qualities to return home with a point.
A goal in the second minute for the Swifts was cancelled out by Jack Withers before the home side regained the lead in the 43rd minute.
But Dan Cotton levelled matters for a second time nine minutes after the restart to ensure the Hares went home with a share of the spoils.
Reflecting on the draw, Roberts said: "It was obviously disappointing not to bring home the three points.
"I don't think the lads were at their best from what I've seen in the past and having had a chat with Ash so to come away with a point is decent.
"We had a period of 20 to 25 minutes in the second half where we could have perhaps put the game to bed after going behind twice, but I think a point was a fair result."
