Club's 15 runners manage 12th place when morning temperature was minus 4.5C
It was a real ‘Frostbite’ Friendly League for the 387 finishers of race five in Bourne Woods on Sunday when the morning temperature was minus 4.5C!
Bourne Woods, usually noted for the extensive muddy trails, was actually ‘freeze-dried’ which made for good conditions underfoot, but a change to a new course introduced more hills than previously which came as a huge surprise to regular runners.
Fenland Running Club managed a small team of 15 runners and the 10 scoring members achieved a respectable 12th place.
Lewis Saunders had a great run and finished in his highest position of the series with an 18th place and great time of 30:27.
Maire Kay led the ladies home, shortly followed by Nicky Jennings.
FRC remain 11th overall after the fifth race and look forward to the sixth race at Jubilee Park Huntingdon next month.
Full results: Lewis Saunders 18th 30:27; Rimvydas Maduras 46th 33:17; Tim Chapman 78th 35:02; Andre Pittock 89th 35:25: James Shelley 109th 36:20; Mark Williams 159th 39:07; Maire Kay 204th 41:13; Nicky Jennings 209th 41:21; Daniel Spiller 217th 41:50; Ian Milburn 233rd 42:55; Jane Clarke 237th 43:06; Adrian Searle 268th 45:17; Larissa Follen 284th 46:12; Rachael Nicols 298th 47:21; Carly Read 316th 48:57; Sarah Rippon 351st 52:39.
